Privacy Policy

Effective August 20, 2026

Who we are

This website is operated by the Greater Chiefland Area Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber”), 23 SE 2nd Ave., Chiefland, FL 32626. Questions about this policy can be directed to us at 352-493-1849 or through our contact page.

What we collect

When you submit a form on this site — a membership application, event registration, award nomination, or contact message — we collect the information you type into that form, such as your name, business name, address, phone number, and email address, and — where a form requires it — your typed signature and the date you signed. We do not collect information you don’t give us, and browsing the site does not require providing any personal information.

How we use it

Submitted information is used only to process your request: reviewing membership applications, organizing event registrations, considering award nominations, and responding to messages. Member business listings you ask us to publish appear in the public member directory. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it lives

Submissions are stored in a secure database hosted in the United States and are accessible only to authorized Chamber staff. We use Vercel for website hosting, Supabase for our database, Cloudflare for form spam protection, and PayPal for payments. These providers process data on our behalf under their own agreements and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions as long as they are needed for the purpose you sent them — for example, membership records for the duration of membership, and event registrations through the event and its follow-up. You may ask us to delete a submission at any time using the contact information above, and we will honor the request unless we are required to keep the record.

Cookies

The public website does not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share browsing data. The only cookies and similar storage used are essential ones: those that keep authorized Chamber staff signed in to the site’s administration area, and those set by our spam-protection provider described below.

Spam protection

Our online forms are protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile. When you submit a form, Turnstile checks signals from your browser — which may include your IP address — to confirm you are a person and not a bot. Cloudflare processes that information under its own privacy policy for the sole purpose of security, and we do not use it to identify or track you.

Payments

If you choose to pay a membership or event fee online, payment is handled by PayPal on PayPal’s own website under PayPal’s privacy policy. This website never sees or stores your card or bank details.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and adults, and we do not direct it to children. Some Chamber events are open to children, and our event registration forms — such as the Rudolph Fun Run — ask for a participant’s name and age. When the participant is under 18, that registration must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides that information on the child’s behalf and consents to its collection. We collect only what is needed to run the event safely: the child’s name, age, shirt size, and an emergency contact. We do not use a child’s information for any other purpose, do not share or sell it, and delete it after the event and its follow-up are complete. Outside of a guardian-submitted event registration, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian may ask us to review or delete their child’s information at any time using the contact information above, and we will do so.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
