Annual Christmas Festival · Each December

Christmas Parade — Entry Registration

Join the Greater Chiefland Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Festival Parade! Staging runs 5–6 p.m. at CMHS on NW 4th Ave; parade steps off at 6 p.m. sharp. Read the guidelines below before submitting your entry.

Prefer paper? Download the printable form and drop it off at the Welcome Center (23 SE 2nd Ave.) or mail it to PO Box 1397, Chiefland, FL 32644.

Parade Guidelines Highlights
  • Theme this year: Star Spangled Christmas — a celebration of America’s 250th birthday. One application per entry; application receipt date is considered when assigning lineup positions.
  • Santa costumes are prohibited. The official festival Santa is the only Santa allowed in the parade. Elves are perfectly fine. Entries with an unofficial Santa will not be permitted in the lineup.
  • Lighting is strongly recommended. The parade takes place after dark — light up your entry for safety and the best crowd experience.
  • No throwing candy from floats. Walkers may hand candy and gifts directly to the crowd, but nothing may be thrown from floats or vehicles — the parade happens after sunset.
  • Keep gaps closed and keep moving. Stay as close as safely possible to the entry ahead of you. Do not stop except at the direct request of a parade official — no exceptions.
  • Horses line up at the back. Animals require extra spacing from bands and music floats. Someone must walk behind horses at all times.
  • Staging begins at 5:00 p.m. at CMHS (808 N. Main St.). Only parade vehicles at the check-in area — participants park in school lots and walk to their group.
